Resource Units

Resource Units referred to in-game as "RU" is the currency that allows for interstellar commerce. Star Control base, Precursor Starbases and the many aliens in this sector will also recognize and exchange Resource Units for goods and services. The most common way to earn Resource Units is exploring planets to collect resources, but Resource Units can also be gained through many other means such as alien interactions, quests and scavenging wrecks. Earning Resource Units is a core part of the game as replenishing crew, purchasing fuel and upgrading the command ship are crucial to advancing through the galaxy and the campaign.
