Mother-Ark

The Mother-Ark is the name that the Earth Press gave to the huge, alien factory vessel responsible for the production of the Mmrnmhrm. It is sometimes referred to as the Factory-Ark or Mother Ark. After arriving in our region of space about a millennium before the events of Star Control II, it produced millions of Mmrnmhrm and eventually broke down. Without a way to create more of themselves, the Mmrnmhrm, unless finding a way to repair the Mother-Ark, a different way to replicate, or hybridizing (as they did with the Chenjesu), would eventually become extinct.
