The star system consists of three planets and four moons.<br /> <br /> Near the end of the [[Ur-Quan Slave War]], when the [[Hierarchy]] finally broke throught the [[Coreward Front]] in 2134, a new but unfortunately short-lived defensive line was drawn at Rigel. The [[Alliance]] was able to hold the star system, but at great cost to the [[Chenjesu]] forces, a major contributing factor to their ensuing defeat by Hierarchy forces. Prior to this, in 2123, [[Precursor]] text fragments were found at Rigel describing the &quot;Appendages of Dawn&quot;, also known as the [[Ultron]].
