When it comes to the most powerful single-shot weapons, the first thought of many starfarers is the [[Ur-Quan_Kzer-Za|Ur-Quan]] [[Dreadnought|Dreadnought]]'s Plasma fusion cannon, which can eliminate 6 crew in a single shot. However, the '''Hellbore Cannon''' does just as much damage. It is unclear whether the [[Melnorme|Melnorme]] developed this weapon or if it is of [[Precursor|Precursor]] origin. Either way, it is the most powerful weapon module available for [[The_Captain|The Captain]]'s Precursor [[The_Flagship|Flagship]] — it does fifty percent more damage than the [[Fusion_Blaster_(module)|Fusion Blaster]] module, and just seven shots can take down a Dreadnought or a [[Ur-Quan_Kohr-Ah|Kohr-Ah]] [[Marauder|Marauder]].

It can be made at a cost of 6000 [[Resource_units|RU]], though the technology must be purchased from the Melnorme, and it can only be purchased after buying nearly every other upgrade. Be warned, however, that it takes a massive amount of energy to fire (6 energy units per gun), and without enough [[Combat_Dynamo|Combat Dynamos]] and [[Shiva_Furnace|Shiva Furnaces]], The Flagship will be left defenseless while it waits for enough energy to recharge.
