The Observer is one of several ships players can pilot in Fleet Battles.
In Star Control: Origins' adventure mode, it is piloted by a species of [Arilou|mysterious aliens] who seem to have a rather peculiar interest in humanity's business.
Mechanics
Now you see them...and now you don’t!
This orb-like ship is fastest-moving and has a limited close range, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t dangerous! The Observer can use its cloaking device to stay hidden from its enemy, choosing the opportune moment to reveal itself and strike.
