The Terran Cruiser is one of several ships a player can pilot in Fleet Battles. The Terran are known as Humans and are the species that the player represents in the adventure mode of Star Control: Origins.
Mechanics
It’s a little scary when the rest of the galaxy agrees that nuclear technology is primitive and outdated, but the Terran don’t seem to mind! The Terran Cruiser’s primary weapon is a nuclear missile that uses up a fair bit of energy, but you do NOT want to get hit with this! It hurts. The missile has a decent range and arcs when fired, so line up your shots carefully.
Point Defense, the cruiser’s secondary weapon, shoots a short-range targeting beam that automatically locks onto nearby ships or objects. This ship’s turn rate and acceleration are a little low, so you’ll need to be careful about any surprise counter attacks as you zero in on your targets, since it won’t be easy for you to get away from their range quickly.
Just remember: you have nukes. It’ll be fine!
