| |content=The Free Trandals are a group of Trandals that have broken free from [[Overmind]] during one of his glitches. The Captain helps the Free Trandals after discovering them in [[Beta Llorven]]. After gaining more Free Trandals, they clear Overmind from the [[Vindicator]], allowing the ability to use the combat upgrades and not have Overmind take over other races.

| First contact with the Free Trandals is during one of Overmind's messaging systems, telling you to visit [[Alpha Naviculum]] III, where a tower tells you to head to Beta Llorven. There, true first contact is made with the Free Trandals, who tell you of Overmind's true purpose in the upgrades, and ask for help in getting more Free Trandals.

Biology
The Trandals are a vaguely reptilian biarmed quadrupedal species. They have eight eyes and a vice-like jaw. The Drenkend were unable to identify if they had more or less than three ears as they are "strange beings with unusual heads".
