The Trandals Frigate is one of several ships a player can pilot in Fleet Battles. The Trandals are a race of technologically bound creatures in Star Control: Origins who appear to be controlled by an entity called the Overmind.
Mechanics
The Trandals Frigate is a small ship with a high turn rate and a low top speed that is deceptive to enemies who don’t know what they’re dealing with. Their secondary attack, Speed Burst, allows them to move from point A to point B quicker than any other ship. This makes them incredibly difficult to hit, especially for larger and slower ships with low turn rates.
Their primary weapon, the Laser Ribbon Bola, has a short range, but can be fired as the Frigate uses its speed burst ability. This effectively makes it so that most ships can’t outrun you - but, it can be a little bit of a challenge to aim properly at such high speed!
