The Coreward Front (dotted blue) extending from Alpha Mira (355.1 : 232.0) to Alpha Indi (400.0 : 136.3) and the approximate secondary line along the Raynet constellation (solid blue). All other stars appear like asterisks to the immediate top-left of their names.

The Coreward Front was the primary Allied defensive line and major theater of combat in the the Ur-Quan Slave War, extending between the Indi and Mira constellations.

After the incorporation of the VUX and Mycon into the Hierarchy, the Ur-Quan and their Battle Thralls attempted in 2124 to break the line and push into Allied space, but amazingly the Alliance was able to hold the front. The Mira constellation was on the frontier of Androsynth (now Orz) space and Allied patrols were in constant danger of ambushes from Androsynth Hit-and-Run Squadrons. Beta Mira was the site of the disastrous first contact between the Human and VUX.

By 2134, the Hierarchy had been stalled at the front for ten years. Finally, they brought their super-weapon, the Sa-Matra, into play and were able to break through and push the line all the way back to Rigel. During this Hierarchy offensive, there may have been a brief, but unsuccessful Allied attempt to form a defensive line along the Raynet constellation. The fall of the Coreward Front was soon followed by the defeat of the Alliance, starting with the Chenjesu who had been severely weakened in defending Rigel.
